Kognitiv Loyalty Program Demo
A loyalty program management demo that Kognitiv's team used to show and sell their platform.
Overview
Kognitiv is a customer loyalty and data activation software company. Its team needed a demo of a loyalty program management tool to show prospective clients what running a program on Kognitiv looks like. I designed the demo: sign-in, a program summary, members, audiences, rewards and promotions.
Problem
Loyalty software is hard to sell with slides. Kognitiv’s team needed to put a working picture in front of prospects: what their program would look like, which numbers they would see every day, and how they would reward and target their customers. The demo had to look like a real product with real-looking data, and be clear to someone seeing it for the first time in a sales meeting.
How might we
How might we let a prospect understand a whole loyalty program in the first minute of a demo?
Process
Lead with the money
A sales demo has one screen to make its point, so the Summary page opens with revenue: loyalty revenue, average order value and revenue from partner campaigns, each compared with last week. Below it, the loyalty view: member growth, loyalty penetration, active and inactive members, points earned and redeemed, and customer lifetime value over time.
Then show the control
The rest of the demo answers “and what can I do about it?”: members, audiences (segments), rewards, promotions and program settings, each one click from the summary.
Solution

The Summary breaks earned points down by customer tier, by channel (mobile, shopping/POS, website) and by age range, next to the net promoter score. A step-by-step flow creates a batch reward promotion (settings, details, audience, review), and each audience segment shows its target members, average transactions and the channels it can be reached on.

Outcome
Kognitiv’s team used the demo to present their platform to prospective clients: a clickable picture of a full loyalty program, from revenue to segments and promotions.
Learnings
- A demo is a product for the person selling it. The order of screens is the order of the pitch.
- Realistic data matters more in a demo than in a real product: round or empty numbers break the illusion in the first minute.
